The Role -- Account Manager/Analytics

 

The Account Manager/Analytics will be responsible for working as part of a team that can respond to the needs of the agency and its clients, using best-in-class tools and service providers.  The Account Manager/Analytics must be comfortable using and understanding the specific nuances of mining and building insights from data, as well as helping to build robust measurement protocols for PR programs.  The Account Manager/Analytics will work closely with the Senior Lead to ensure that Porter Novelli is smartly using all tools available in a coordinated fashion to understand audiences, create thoughtful programs, and measure and refine communication programs over time.  

What You Will Be Doing

  • Work with client teams to discern how data may inform communication approaches, including audience segmentation, communication strategy, program amplification, influencer analysis and communication program evaluation 
  • Lead a team of analysts and managers growing the skills, talent, operations and technologies to improve client work, team growth and individual professional development. Connect with the broader analytics community, staying up-to-date on technologies and innovations in the science; changes within platforms and data availability; and policy and regulatory changes that affect the work  
  • Generate data-driven strategic insights and assist analysts in crafting strategy recommendations from primary and secondary research and analysis to inform current clients and prospects 
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to create innovative and efficient analytics products and offerings 

The Experience That Will Contribute To Your Success

  • Communication/public relations experience
  • Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to grow talent and business 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and a passion for turning data into actionable insights 
  • Strong written communication skills with ability to generate and clearly convey insights from raw data to internal stakeholders and clients 

  • Ability and willingness to prioritize and contribute to multiple projects 
  • Interest in contributing to a growing team and product set in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment 

Experience with one or more of the following tools

  • Social Listening/Monitoring: Cision, NewsWhip, MuckRack, Tagger, Talkwalker
  • Digital Platforms: Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics  
  • Paid Media: Google AdWords, DoubleClick, or other ad serving networks  
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel   
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python preferred; statistical tools, such as R, SPSS, SAS a plus  

Education

  • 6-8+  years of analytics, data, research experience 
  • BA/BS in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, business, communication, marketing or social sciences  
  • Understanding of social and digital media 
  • Familiarity with market research
