The Role:

We are looking to hire an ambitious and proactive Sr. Account Executive to collaborate with and support teams across consumer-focused clients, including a leading footwear and apparel brand and a major beverage company. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of pitching and securing top tier media coverage, creating and executing strategic campaigns, crafting compelling messaging, proactively identifying trends and driving thought leadership and executive visibility for clients to engage in relevant conversations. In addition, experience with issues management and crisis communications and an interest to further grow in the reputation management space is highly desired. What You Will Be Doing

  • Craft stories and conduct outreach to business and trade media, especially corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability media
  • Help create and prepare integrated communications plans, including media outreach, social and digital media engagement and thought leadership and executive visibility
  • Support the execution of these plans, including but not limited to:
    • Researching and pursuing speaking engagements and awards
    • Creating compelling written content for a variety of owned, earned and paid channels
    • Identifying and executing opportunities to amplify stories through paid media
    • Securing press coverage for company news and stories
    • Pitching executives for profiles and Q&A opportunities
    • Drafting and pitching byline articles
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of client business and industry; proactively identify trends and share with account teams and clients
  • Draft written materials including message guides, client correspondence, case studies, news releases, pitch letters, fact sheets, briefing documents, and issue briefs
  • Track and merchandise client media coverage
  • Participate in client calls and meetings and respond to client’s requests, with a goal to build trusting client relationships
  • Monitor and report daily on relevant client and industry news
  • Conduct research on a range of topics including the client, their industry, key issues, competitors, and key stakeholders
  • Analyze research and provide strategic counsel related to emerging client issues
  • Help pitch new business opportunities
  • Coordinate various administrative needs, including drafting agendas, call reports and monthly reports

The Experience That Will Contribute To Your Success

  • A background in corporate communications, including sustainability communications, either within a PR/Marketing Communications Agency or in-house Corp Comms role; in terms of years you have likely been practicing your craft for 4-6 years
  • A working knowledge of the stories reporters and editors are interested in covering – creative storytelling
  • Existing relationships and the ability to quickly build and maintain effective relationships with influential media contacts, including contacts in the CSR and sustainability space
  • Understanding what makes for good digital and social media content and the ability to cross-promote
  • Ability to pivot under quick turnaround deadlines and high media profile/digital trending situations
  • Experience in account management know-how (ability to juggle is a must)
  • Balance the needs of a multitude of clients and their stakeholders
  • Working on integrated accounts
  • Clear, concise and expedient writing skills
  • Program and campaign strategic development
  • Budget management
