Overview

The Role

 

The Finance Manager with work with all aspects of the account and business life cycle including development of contracts, forecasting revenue, staff planning, financial reporting and analysis, development and implementation of the annual budget, and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

What You Will Be Doing

  1. Client Budget Management and Invoicing
  • Work with account leads to prepare client budget projections and reforecasts.
  • Track projected stretch goals and monitor for over-servicing and fee write-offs.
  • Manage administrative aspects of major client budgets, including tracking and reporting of real-time budget status.
  • Provide strategic financial counsel to account leads concerning prudent budget management and staffing for profitability.
  • Assist with invoicing needs for major clients.
  • Serve as liaison between account staff and accounting department.
  • Work with account teams to determine and provide specialized reporting.
  1. Contract Development and Management
    • Ensure credit checks are completed for new clients.
  • Ensure written client agreement is obtained (via MSA, signed SOW, PO, etc.) for all work and are appropriately archived and classified. 
  • Provide counsel on pricing and commercial terms for new MSAs and SOWs.
  • Facilitate negotiation of vendor contracts between vendors, account staff/senior management and legal department, including review of all commercial terms.
  1. Capacity Planning
  • Create and maintain office’s monthly staffing matrix and capacity tracking.
  • Provide realization reports to office strategic service teams.
  • Counsel account leads on proper planning of staff allocations as related to client budgets.
  1. Revenue/P&L Management and Reporting
  • Maintain monthly and annual revenue and P&L forecast on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide reports to senior staff on revenue status vs. target for the month; YTD revenue vs. target. Provide commentary around noticeable trends.
  • Prepare management reports and identify and communicate areas of concern and suggested improvements to account staff and management (e.g., client profitability, utilization, over/under service, missing time, revenue risk and staffing plans).
  • Manage monthly revenue accrual process for the office, in compliance with agency policies.
  • Create journal entries for any necessary accruals each month.
  • Provide guidance to accounting team on cash application.
  1. Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies (e.g., revenue recognition, job requisitions, time entry, travel and expense, credit, billing, capex, accounts payable, new business).

 

Additional Duties

  • Provide training in PeopleSoft basics and account financial management to new staff.
  • Process office administrative and new business billing worksheets.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

The Experience That Will Contribute To Your Success

  • Five-to-seven years of finance experience in an agency or consulting environment, including solid background in Federal government contracting and compliance
  • Strongly prefer experience with PeopleSoft and Cognos
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel; solid Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and identify the key business issues underlying the numbers
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and balance shifting priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with staff, clients and vendors
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other quantitative/analytical disciplines​
