The Role

 

The VP | Healthcare/Government will join the dynamic Healthcare & Pharmaceutical and Government teams.  This particular position will lead large communications accounts with multicultural and/or health equity focus. Chronic disease and rare disease experience would be ideal, but more necessary is a passion for the healthcare space. 

As a VP on our team you will be provided with a clearly articulated and well-supported path for career growth.  The work is an interesting blend of social impact, product, corporate, and issues management.  

What You Will Be Doing

  • Have an understanding of multicultural communications, importance of addressing health disparities and inequities and strategies for communicating with populations historically underserved through social marketing.
  • Focus on leading campaigns and projects that are designed to reach and engage African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, as well as other multicultural communities.  
  • Lead project teams to support development, execution and evaluation of communication programs and products.
  • Lead audience-centric support for partnership programs, earned media activities, social media engagement and paid media efforts.
  • Support business development and thought leadership activities.

The Experience That Will Contribute To Your Success

  • Demonstrated experience in developing strategy for and executing multicultural communications in health-related and behavior change campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multisector clients, including federal health agencies and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Knowledge of and experience with media targeting multicultural communities.
  • Knowledge of and experience collaborating with community-based and national organizations targeting multicultural communities.
  • Know-how to develop and execute integrated communications strategies and programs including digital and social 
  • A passion for ideas and moving pharma clients forward into new avenues of thinking 
  • Leadership and management of relationships with multiple internal and external clients 
  • Direct responsibility for organic account growth, and participated in pitching and securing new business 
  • Relevant level of expertise in general business acumen, budget management, communications, leadership and mentoring skills 
  • About 10 years public relations experience with relevant health/government agency experience or equivalent 
  • Preferred experience in health and/or government public relations accounts, including pharmaceutical and direct-to-consumer product marketing, advocacy, program development and execution, social marketing and media relations
