As a Senior Account Manager, you will work with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to design and manage clear and thoughtful communication plans for a variety of public health clients.  We are looking for experienced health communications managers with federal government contracting experience. Experience working on government proposals and new business development, familiarity with tracking budgets and costs is required. 

About the Role

Porter Novelli is seeking a Senior Account Manager who is well-rounded, creative, highly organized, experienced, efficient, personable, and adept at balancing competing deadlines on a tight timeline. Ideal candidates will bring a level of passion for public health and are both creative and strategic. We are looking for leaders with a proven track-record of leading teams and projects with confidence and autonomy.  You must work well within a matrixed team environment—knowing how to work with creatives as well as data analysts.

What You Will Be Doing

 

  • Develop, manage, track, and oversee targeted marketing, communications, and public relations strategies to reach underserved audiences
  • Oversee communications projects or project tasks, using industry standard tools and methods, including managing budgets 
  • Implement brand strategies, messaging architectures, communication plans, and guidance to ensure clients and/or projects are portrayed consistently and compellingly in media outlets and external channels
  • Lead web and social media strategy and support communications specialists in producing, writing content, and reporting on analytics
  • Build monthly and quarterly content plans, email marketing campaigns, newsletters
  • Manage audio visual vendors and production plans and other communications materials 
  • Participate in new business initiatives
  • Draft high level talking points, and key messages 
  • Facilitate and participate in client meetings and working groups as appropriate
  • Perform other duties related to the core functions of the role

The Experience That Will Contribute To Your Success

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Communications, Marketing, Media, Business, or other related fields)
  • 6 years of relevant experience, such as managing communications projects, conducting outreach activities, writing and developing content—including social media posts, web stories, and drafting communications plans
  • Demonstrated experience in outreach and stakeholder engagement materials and program implementation including managing social media, outreach and  communications and campaigns
  • Processes a strong understanding of the latest forms of digital media/social media, to understanding the media landscape
  • Highly organized, efficient, and extremely detail-oriented—and able to see the big picture
  • Demonstrated understanding of standard project management tools and concepts
  • Strong skills in creative writing and storytelling across multiple platforms, proposal development, speeches, editing, and report writing
  • Strong computer skills and MS Office abilities with an ability to work productively in SharePoint to accomplish tasks.
  • Bilingual a plus
