The Role 


The Project Manager will provide critical support for Porter Novelli’s Health portfolios – helping the team develop and manage against scopes of work to ensure that projects come in on time and within budget, manage resources and request new hires, ensure compliance, and manage risk. This role will be approximately 30%-50% billable to clients.


To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a communications agency veteran who loves spreadsheets more than the average PR person, be comfortable voicing opinions whiledriving teams toward compromises, be exceptionally detail oriented, and have past experience working with pharmaceutical industry and other health clients/projects.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensuring that new clients are onboarded in compliance with agency and parent company requirements.
  • Assisting in defining scopes of work, creating staffing plans that align to scope budgets, and developing and enforcing timelines that align with internal and client needs.
  • Helping to align resources required for successful execution of project including internal teams, freelancers, vendors and agency partners and other third-party resources.
  • Recommending process improvements to save time, solve issues, and manage against budgets.
  • Understanding agency and parent company mandates, processes and workflow, and ensuring compliance across portfolio.
  • Identifying, assessing, communicating and managing project risks.
  • Communicating and reporting on project status and budget to internal team members and finance.
  • Working with finance team to track, report on and manage portfolio contracts, invoicing, revenue forecasts and profitability.
  • Establishing productive and communicative relationships with portfolio team, as well as integrated services, talent and finance teams.

The Experience That Will Contribute To Your Success

  • 5-7 years of experience 
  • Bachelors degree 
  • Prior communications agency experience in client or project management, with a focus on pharmaceutical industry and other clients
  • High comfort level with Excel, Gantt charts and other project management tools
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, prioritization, decision making and conflict resolution skills
  • Close attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and manage priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
