The Role

We’re looking to hire an ambitious and proactive Account Manager to manage teams for a well-known, global pharmaceutical company. The ideal candidate has a track record of building strong client relationships, coaching and mentoring staff, and rolling up their sleeves on the day-to-day work. Responsibilities include creating and executing internal communication strategies and campaigns, supporting leadership communications internally and externally, crafting compelling messaging, proactively identifying trends and driving thought leadership for clients to engage in relevant conversations. Strong experience with internal communications, employee experience as well as reputation and issues management  communications is important. What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with clients
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on a range of topics and issues
  • Help create and prepare integrated internal communication plans, including developing and deploying leadership communications, and crafting thought leadership and executive visibility plans
  • Understanding of best practices in employee engagement and positioning a brand/company as an “employer of choice”; demonstrate initiative in keeping on top of latest trends and news and the companies getting credit in this area
  • Support the execution of these plans, including but not limited to:
    • Developing strategic internal communication plans to further engage and inspire employees
    • Identifying new and relevant tools and platforms to reach employees
    • Creating compelling written content for executives to deploy internally and externally
    • Researching and pursuing speaking engagements and awards
    • Identifying and executing opportunities to amplify stories both internally and externally
    • Pitching executives for profiles, events and Q&A opportunities
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of client business and industry; proactively identify trends and share with account teams and clients
  • Draft written materials including message guides, client correspondence, case studies, internal newsletters and communications, briefing documents, and issue briefs
  • Help lead client calls and meetings and respond to client’s requests, with a goal to build trusting client relationships
  • Conduct research on a range of topics including the client, their industry, key issues, competitors, and key stakeholders
  • Help pitch new business opportunities

The Experience That Will Contribute To Your Success

  • A background in corporate communications, including internal and employee communications, either within a PR/Marketing Communications Agency or in-house Corp Comms role; you have likely been practicing your craft for 6-8 years
  • Experience managing large healthcare accounts – including building strong client relationships, effectively managing teams and building and managing budgets
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and follows through – anticipates client needs
  • A clear understanding of the stories reporters and editors are interested in covering – creative storytelling
  • Passion for world and current events
  • Ability to analyze complex topics quickly and succinctly to inform/counsel clients
  • Experience in balancing the needs of a multitude of clients – ability to remain organized and multi-task on a deadline
  • High degree of attention to detail in all areas, from performing research to crafting client- and public-facing materials
  • Working on integrated accounts
  • Clear, concise and expedient writing skills
